Laquage/Lacquering
Le Laquage est l’élément centrale de la réalisation d’un fourreau de sabre japonais. La raison d’être de la laque n’est pas décorative mais réellement protectrice.
Je n’utilise plus de laque traditionnelle japonaise car j’ai trouvé un produit contemporain, qui répond parfaitement aux exigences techniques de l’utilisation d’un fourreau de sabre. Il s’agit d'une laque bi-composante à fort coefficient de durcissement et résistante aux solvants. Très dure, cette laque permet d’obtenir une excellente finition au polissage, et peut être travaillé aussi bien au pinceau qu’au pistolet, pour tous les types de finitions possible. Cette solution technique à l’avantage de me permettre l’accès à toutes les teintes du nuancier RAL.
Je propose trois grand type de finitions :
- Finition polis miroir
- Finition texturée fine
- Finition aspect pierre polit
Le fourreau peut également être partiellement ou totalement, recouvert de peau de raie, laquée puis polit.
Lacquering is the central element in the making of a Japanese sword scabbard. The purpose of lacquer is not decorative but truly protective.
I no longer use traditional Japanese lacquer because I have found a contemporary product, which perfectly meets the technical requirements of using a saber scabbard. It is a two-component lacquer with a high hardening coefficient and resistant to solvents. Very hard, this lacquer provides an excellent polishing finish, and can be worked with both a brush and a spray gun, for all types of finishes possible. This technical solution has the advantage of allowing me access to all the colors of the RAL color chart.
I offer three main types of finishes:
- Mirror polished finish
- Fine textured finish
- Polished stone finish
The scabbard can also be partially or totally covered with lacquered ray skin and then polished.
